St. Nursery School is the most centrally located preparatory school in the Doon valley. The school is in the memory of Late Shri Sant Ram Chhabra. He laid the foundation stone of the school building in the year 1974. To cherish his memories, the school was named after him as “Sant Nursery School”. Sant being Saint in English, the school gained popularity as St. Nursery School.

The school was established in the year 1979. The Governing body consists of eminent educationists with more than four decades of educational and administrative experience. St. Nursery School is the brainchild of Mrs. Vinod Chhabra and Mr. V. P. Chhabra.

Mrs. Vinod Chhabra is the Founder Principal of the school and the school has flourished tremendously under her guidance. She did her post graduation from Hansraj College, Delhi University & B’ed from Chandigarh, Punjab University. She was an active sportsperson and has won various medals and awards. She held the rank of an Under Officer at National Cadet Corps (India). Her achievement in sports and excellence in Academics has helped St. Nursery to move on the path of glory since the beginning. It is her dedication that the school has earned an excellent reputation and is ranked one of the best Preparatory schools in the town. Her unique ability to understand the behavioral and motivational aspects of the children belonging to different age groups is the key to excellent performance of the children. The school that started with only two students in the play group has now grown to a strength of more than four hundred students, forty staff members and two branches.

Mr. V.P. Chhabra is the Chairman of the school. After serving a multinational company for thirty two years, Mr. Chhabra joined the institution in the year 1993 and nurtured the school with his experienced hands. He graduated from Delhi University in the year 1962. He was an excellent scholar and received many medals and awards for the same.

Mr. Ashish Chhabra is the Director of the school. He joined the above-mentioned team of Academicians in the year 2007 in the capacity of a Vice Principal to give a new dimension to the school. He did his schooling from St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun. He graduated from the University of South Australia, Adelaide and his experience overseas is an asset to the school. His vision of uplifting educational standards of our country has given a new boost to the school which is appreciated by the students & their families.

Mr. Chhabra’s commitment has not only helped students grow and develop their skills, but has also contributed to the upliftment of the school.

For his relentless service, Mr. Ashish Chhabra was awarded “Avantika Shikshak Samman Award” and “Guru Ravindranath Tagore Samman Award”.

Ms. Ruchi Chhabra, with her twenty years of experience in the field of education as a teacher and as an administrator, has opened a vista of new ideas and has helped in providing a stronger platform for children to grow and blossom. Ms. Chhabra did her schooling from Convent of Jesus & Mary, Dehradun. She did her Masters in Literature in the year 1997 and was ranked second in the college. She then did her B.Ed and has been educationist since then. She joined St. Nursery School as the Academic Co-ordinator in the year 2008 and is presently working as the Vice Principal.

This team of academicians has widely surveyed educational system and caters to all the needs of a child as an individual on emotional as well as mental level.

S.R. Public School is a branch of St. Nursery School. It is registered and recognized by State Government. It is up to class II.
